About us

Our Story
Sisi Eko was born out of a deep passion for preserving the vibrant flavors and culture of Nigerian street food. Our journey began with Taiwo, a proud Lagos native, whose childhood memories were filled with the tantalizing aromas of Agege bread, Akara, roasted plantain, and more, from the bustling streets of Lagos.
After relocating to Melbourne, Australia, Taiwo was struck by the absence of Nigerian street snacks in the diverse culinary scene. Attending various food festivals across the city only deepened her longing for the familiar tastes of home. Inspired by her late father, who fondly gave her the nickname “Sisi Eko,” Taiwo decided to take a bold step to bridge this gap. Sisi Eko was founded to bring the essence of Lagos street food to the heart of Melbourne, rekindling nostalgic memories for the Nigerian community and introducing authentic West African flavors to a broader audience.
Our Mission and Vision
At Sisi Eko, our mission is simple: to bring the heart of Lagos to Melbourne, one delicious snack at a time. We are committed to celebrating Nigerian heritage by crafting snacks that embody the rich, bold, and comforting flavors of West African street food.
Our vision is to become Melbourne’s leading destination for authentic Nigerian street snacks, fostering a sense of community, and creating a cultural bridge through food. We aim to share not just snacks but the stories and traditions that make them so special.

Impact Statement
Sisi Eko isn’t just about snacks—it’s about connecting people to the vibrant spirit of West African culture. From offering nostalgic bites to Nigerian expats to introducing new flavors to adventurous food lovers in Melbourne, we are dedicated to spreading joy, one snack at a time.

Meet the Founder
At the heart of Sisi Eko is Taiwo, the visionary behind the brand. Born and raised in Lagos, Taiwo grew up immersed in the bustling street food culture that defines Nigerian life. Her love for the sweet, savory, and spicy delights of Lagos shaped her childhood and ignited her passion for sharing this heritage with others.
After moving to Melbourne, Taiwo’s entrepreneurial spirit and deep longing for the flavors of home inspired her to create Sisi Eko. Her journey is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the desire to celebrate her roots while embracing her new home.
When Taiwo isn’t crafting delicious snacks, she enjoys connecting with customers, sharing stories about her upbringing, and encouraging everyone to experience the unique joy of Nigerian street food.
