Sisi Eko was born out of a deep passion for preserving the vibrant taste and culture of Nigerian street drinks. Our journey began with Taiwo, a proud Lagos native, whose childhood memories were filled with the tantalizing tastes of Chapman, Hibiscus Tea, Sugar Cane and more, from the bustling streets of Lagos.
After relocating to Melbourne, Australia, Taiwo was struck by the absence of Nigerian street drinks in the diverse culinary scene. Attending various drink festivals across the city only deepened her longing for the familiar tastes of home. Inspired by her late father, who fondly gave her the nickname “Sisi Eko,” Taiwo decided to take a bold step to bridge this gap. Sisi Eko was founded to bring the essence of Lagos street food to the heart of Melbourne, rekindling nostalgic memories for the Nigerian community and introducing authentic West African flavors to a broader audience.
